Fort Miles Historical Association

One of our oldest clients, Horizon continues to work with DNREC and the FMHA board toward the creation of a state-of-the-art WWII military museum at Cape Henlopen State Park. This will be one of just a few in the country located on an actual military site.

FMHA recently installed their unique “Gun Park,” featuring the massive 16” middle cannon from the USS MISSOURI, under which the Japanese delegation surrendered to General MacArthur on Sept. 2, 1945, ending WWII.   A campaign, supported by a generous Longwood Foundation grant, is now underway to enable the final components of the museum, including an indoor/outdoor events area overlooking the ocean.

Lewes History Museum

The new, long-awaited Lewes History Museum opened its doors July 4, 2017. More than $3 million was raised to create this world class tribute to the “first City in the First State.” A campaign is now underway to complete the Children’s Discovery Center component of the Museum.
